Cover crops can play an important role in reducing erosion, nutrient cycling, and building soil health. Many farmers are looking for research-based information on introducing this practice on the farm, and Greene County Extension can help.
The first Ag Coffee & Conversation of 2018 is Friday, Jan. 12, from 9:30 to11 am at the Extension office, 104 W. Washington St, in Jefferson. Mark Johnson, ISU Extension & Outreach field agronomist, and Liz Garst, area farmer, will lead the discussion, covering topics such as how to start, different seeding methods and species, termination concerns and more.
Ag Coffee & Conversation brings together farmers and other ag professionals for an informal discussion on current ag topics. Home State Bank of Jefferson is the sponsor for this free event. No reservations are required.
